Our training days this term
We’re running our biggest programme of training yet, with courses for those of you new to PSHE education and for more experienced colleagues on topics such as preparing for Ofsted and ISI as well as training suited to those working in SEND settings. We’ve also got a new course on promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing through PSHE and much more besides. Note that our courses this term will take place across the country – in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London – so please visit our site for details on courses and locations that suit you best.
Our new Primary Scheme of Work Planning Toolkit
Primary colleagues please also note that we launched our new Scheme of Work Planning Toolkit just before the summer break. This guidance is only available to members of the Association and is complemented by our ‘Planning your PSHE Programme’ primary CPD days, facilitated by one of the toolkit authors.
The latest calls for making PSHE education statutory
High profile support for statutory PSHE education continued to build over the summer, including from the Chair of the Association for Police and Crime Commissioners (APPC), Vera Baird QC, and other prominent police and crime commissioners as well as from parliamentarians, parents and celebrities concerned about keeping children and young people safe from abuse and online risks. We will continue to make the case for statutory PSHE to the government on your behalf during the weeks and months ahead.
