As the national body for PSHE education we are passionate about preparing children and young people to meet life’s challenges and make the most of life’s opportunities, as well as supporting them to make a positive contribution to society.
This is particularly important in these complex and uncertain times and we believe there is great value in the type of social action and participation the #iwill campaign is looking to ignite.
In our experience the vast majority of young people are keen to make a positive difference to their societies and communities and this campaign provides an ideal outlet through which they can do so effectively. It is also a natural fit with PSHE education. The fundamental skills, knowledge and attributes PSHE education develops can support young people to get involved in social action, helping them develop character, confidence and appreciation of the importance of community.
We are delighted to encourage our national network of schools, teachers and other practitioners to get young people involved and more details on the kinds of opportunities on offer are available on the #iwill website. We also look forward to supporting the campaign as it develops and celebrating its successes in the years ahead.
