The PSHE Association is delighted to launch the PSHE education character curriculum planning toolkit, which was produced under a Department for Education (DfE) grant.
Developing essential skills and attributes, alongside subject knowledge, is key to effective PSHE education. This planning toolkit will help teachers to plan schemes of work which put those skills and attributes at the forefront of their PSHE programme.
The toolkit offers practical advice on integrating character education within PSHE education, including practical guidance, planning grids, exemplar lesson plans and an overview of useful resources for key stages 1 to 4.
PSHE Association Deputy Chief Executive Jenny Barksfield said:
“We are delighted to launch this new toolkit funded under the DfE character education grant programme. The established pedagogy of PSHE education has always been clear on the importance of developing skills and attributes alongside subject knowledge and understanding but teachers often find this a difficult aspect of PSHE teaching. This toolkit provides planning materials that will make it easier to plan your PSHE education schemes of work in a way that achieves the right balance between skills, attributes, knowledge and understanding.”
