PSHE Association/Public Health England seminar (11 March)
On 11th March 2015, Public Health England and the PSHE Association will be hosting a joint seminar in London to consider how student teachers can be best prepared for their role in promoting pupils’ health and wellbeing. The seminar will be aimed at both ITE providers and those who work in partnership with ITE providers. Speakers will include representatives from Southampton University, Thames SCITT and the University of Hertfordshire as well as Janet Palmer HMI, Ofsted's lead for PSHE education.
Further information including booking information will be circulated shortly; in the meantime we would ask colleagues working in ITE, or in partnership with ITE providers, to hold the date. There will be no charge for attendance at this conference.
PSHE Association Annual Conference 2015 in London (25 June) and Leeds (2 July)
Due to popular demand and a highly successful 2014 event we’ll be holding our Annual Conference in both London on Thursday 25th June and again in central Leeds on Thursday 2nd July.
The core theme will be safeguarding and the events will focus on positive, practical steps schools can make to help ensure pupil safety and wellbeing.
Both events will offer a great choice of practical workshops and keynotes on the national perspective, including Janet Palmer HMI. Workshop topics are likely to include the practical application of our upcoming DfE funded guidance on the teaching of consent, and mental health guidance we’ll be publishing for schools in the New Year.
We particularly look forward to running this event in Leeds for the first time as it reflects our increased activity outside London and a desire to make it easier for colleagues in the Midlands and North to attend.
Please save the date that best suits you and we will send around further information and booking information early in the New Year.
